Four Ecuadorians, one shared dream.

Urkaya began with a feeling every Ecuadorian abroad knows — the quiet pull of home. We are four Ecuadorians who grew up surrounded by the colour and craft of the Andes and the Amazon: tagua carved by hand, wool woven on wooden looms, guayusa brewed before the sun. Two of us now live in Germany, one of us grew up here, and together we share a single dream — to bring the culture and traditions we love to the country that has become our second home.

That dream has a purpose behind it. Ecuador's artisans carry extraordinary skill and centuries of inherited knowledge, yet rarely reach the audience — or the fair prices — their work deserves. Urkaya is our way of changing that: a short, honest bridge between the hands that make these pieces in Ecuador and the conscious homes of Germany and Europe.

We are a small team — Daniel, Danna, John and Jonathan — building this slowly and with care, the same way the things we sell are made.
